7th Annual Rove the Cove 5k

The Auburndale Community Association is a non-profit organization founded to promote Auburndale village in the city of Newton, MA. The ACA hosts the Rove the Cove 5k road/trail race. The race starts and finishes in the picnic area of The Cove. Plenty of parking, bathroom facilities, t-shirts, water stations, and prizes raffled at the end. The course runs on wooded trails and winds through neighborhood streets.

More details:

• Wheel measured 5k trail and road race through Auburndale Park and surrounding neighborhoods.

• This is a USATF-sanctioned event.

• Newton auxiliary police monitor the busy intersections. Other volunteers monitor other sections of the course to keep you safe. However, please keep in mind we do not close off the roads.

• "Rove the Cove" 100% cotton t-shirt to the first 100 registrants. We will reserve t-shirts for pre-registrants so you get the size you requested. It's a crapshoot for folks who register after pre-registration period and on race day; however, we rarely run out of t-shirts for all runnners.

• All finishers 12 and under receive official finishers medal.

• Post race raffle. We raffle off scores of gift certificates donated by local businesses. Support our local businesses!!

All fitness levels welcome! You can walk or run. Push the kids in a baby jogger. Our insurance coverage discourages the use of personal music devices (phones, ipods, mp3 players, etc.) during the race.

Please note that prizes are awarded through a random raffle, not your finishing place. Anyone can win!!

Results will be emailed to all registered runners and posted on this website and on www.coolrunning.com. Results may be a bit slow being updated. To keep costs down we don't use a timing company, so please be patient.

This year we are trying online registration. There is no additional charge for using it this year, so give it a try!
