Overall we had a totlal of 189 participants. Down from 205 last year. Not everyone finished or walked to the end of the chute to record their number so the results only show 159 finishers.
It was another exceptional day for a race. Thank you for participating and we hope to see you again next year for our 10th anniversary special!!
And here are photos by John Sangiolo, a long-time runner and I guess part-time photographer. 466 photos!
The Auburndale Community Association is a non-profit organization founded to promote Auburndale village in the city of Newton, MA. The ACA hosts the Rove the Cove 5k road/trail race. This year all proceeds from the race will be given to the Auburndale Community Library. The ACL is a volunteer-run organization.
The race starts and finishes in the picnic area of The Cove. Plenty of parking, bathroom facilities, t-shirts, water stations, and prizes raffled at the end. The course runs on wooded trails and winds through neighborhood streets.
All fitness levels welcome! You can walk or run. Push the kids in a baby jogger. Our insurance coverage discourages the use of personal music devices (phones, ipods, mp3 players, etc.) during the race.
Please note that prizes are awarded through a random raffle, not your finishing place. Anyone can win!!
You can register online at Racewire. This is a bit more expensive, but more convenient.
You can also download, print, fill out, and mail registration forms from here.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU.
Below is a list of sponsors who have contributed to the year's race by either underwriting some of our costs or giving away gift certificates for the post-race raffle. We couldn't put on this race without their support. Please support these local businesses:
Excellent for viewing!
The course was wheel-measured.
The course starts on the park trail and heads south to Commonwealth Ave. and then makes a loop in the Islington neighborhood. The course then retraces the trail back into the Park, passing the start line before heading out to the Staniford area. The course then heads back into the park and finishes at the picnic area. Water stations at mile 1, mile 2, and finish.
